Bob McEwen is a name synonymous with the game of hockey, especially in the West Island of Montreal.
Bob attended John Abbott College, where he was part of the Islanders Hockey Club from 1973-1976.
He is a former employee of McGill University (McDonald Campus) and is currently the co-owner and manager of Cunnigham’s Pub, in St-Anne-De-Bellevue.
Bob has been part of the minor hockey scene as a coach for over 40+ years. He served as an assistant coach with the Lac St-Louis Lions in the 80s, coaches in the QMJHL, as well at the CEGEP level with both the Dawson College Blues, and the John Abbott College Islanders.
He also founded the M & L Sports Camps, which specialized in elite level hockey training for 10 years and was the founder of “Friend for Life”, a sledge hockey program for special needs children in the US and Canada.
Bob has been part of countless humanitarian causes and is still part of the annual Remembrance Day ceremony
held on the Macdonald-John Abbott campus. They are keeping the
tradition alive.
